Jaipur...the capital of the State of Rajasthan. Beautiful city with its long history and culture which is great to see. I also got a chance to visit this city....and here is my experience....

When I was planning to visit it, many people told me that two days are more than enough to have a complete insight of it. But to my astonishment even three days were not enough to completely watchout for the rich heritage which it engulfs.

Surrounded all sides by hills, the places to visit are like Hawa Mehal, Jantar Mantar, Nahargarh Fort, Amber Fort, City Palace,Jal Mahal, Birla Temple and many more. The rajasthani heritage comprises of not only these but also the art and craft which is famous world over for its beauty.

Starting from Delhi early in the morning we reached Jaipur in the afternoon, found out the place stay which e had booked before. We finsihed our lunch and started for Chowki Dhani.

.............An amusement place close to Jaipur in which the organisers have tried to capture all colors of Rajasthan in just one place. Dances of rajasthan, elephant and camel rides, traditional games, huts as in villages giving the feeling of being in a village. It showcases how people of village survive in the small places which we urban people can harldy think of. It was all fun asking a parrot to take a card and tell my luck. But the best part was the rajasthani food which was not only smelled and tasted rajasthan but also was served in the traditional manner. At 11pm we were back to our place but the memories still keep me alive.

Next day we set out in the morning after having breakfast, and reached City Palace. The part of the palace is still occupied by the Royal family. You might have seen this place in many bollywood scenes showcasing a Royal family in a big haveli. The more I describe lesser it will be so best is to visit the place.

Then the Hawa Mahal......as the name suggests it was built to feel the cool breeze even in the summers for the Ranis. Even now in the summers you can feel it. The next was Jantar Mantar, which shows that time, earth and geography is not new, it was very understood in that era. Although, this might not seem new to them who have already visited Jantar Mantar in Delhi. The Birla temple, stands different from all of them. On the outskirts of the City and different for the city architecture, its all made of white marble with one big hall. One can see the magnificence in the paintings in the hall.

The list of monuments is long and never ending and each different from the other which makes it more and more interesting.

Last and not the least..........if you visit Jaipur and dont buy anything then definitely you have missed something on your trip.Alhtough these days everything has become global nowadays and we can find everything locally but the prettiness in the dress materials, ghagra chowli's, bed sheets and the mojari cannot be found. The designs and the bright colors used in the handmade materials are just unforgettable.

When I was returning back to Delhi and thinking about it all, it all feels like a dream.
